Noémi Ferenczy

Noémi Ferenczy was born in Satu-Mare, Romania and graduated from the University of Babeș-Bolyai in Cluj with a major in Hungarian and a minor in German before continuing on to the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Hungary. She began writing during her university years, mainly reviews and children’s poems, and also began directing plays for young people.  Today she lives in a small town in Hungary.

“I began my career as a teacher for special needs children. Now I teach Hungarian and German in a Cistercian high-school in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.

I have directed plays since I was a university student. My passion and work came together on the student stage.

I have also continued my other passion from my student years, writing. I wrote my first poems to my firstborn child and my first plays to my students. I am very inspired by the uniqueness and complexity that is revealed in every form of existence and that surrounds me day by day.”
